Meet The Team at George St Podiatry
Josh Cheng - Podiatrist
Josh Cheng has returned to us from the UK after spending the last four years working as the podiatrist for an elite medical sporting clinic in Manchester where he treated superstars from Manchester City, was part of the team that provided the medical services for Wigan Warrior Rugby League (premiers in 09/10 and winners of Challenge Cup in 2011) as well as looking after Olympic runners.
Josh’s special interest is biomechanical analysis and correction using orthotic therapy, joint mobilisation, trigger point therapy and strengthening the muscles of the feet to achieve rapid relief and lasting results from foot and ankle pain. Josh consults at both Carlisle Podiatry and George Street Podiatry.
Grace Wan - Podiatrist
Grace graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2018. She graduated with Distinction and was awarded the Dean’s Prize in Podiatric Medicine. Prior to this, Grace also completed a Bachelor of Science specialising in Biomedical Science (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) from the same university.
Since graduating, Grace has completed further training and is skilled in providing dry needling, electroacupuncture, joint mobilisation, Swift therapy, and shock wave therapy. She has a keen interest in all aspects of podiatry, especially in the treatment of ingrown toenails (conservative and surgical), musculoskeletal conditions, and the management of patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys indoor rock-climbing and visiting local cafes. Grace would love to assist you with any podiatric needs and will strive to help you achieve your treatment goals.
Marabelle Heng - Podiatrist
Marabelle Heng (MSc, B.Pod, B.Sc) is a podiatrist with more than 15 years’ experience. Marabelle was first introduced to podiatry after sustaining toenail trauma from ballet. She has an innate understanding of foot biomechanics from years of dance and going on-pointe.
Her clinical sub-specialisations are biomechanics and nail surgery. Marabelle was the lead (principal) podiatrist at the Singapore General Hospital for biomechanics and nail surgery, from 2016 to 2022. During that time, she managed countless flat feet and bunions in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons, among whom she built strong relationships and a solid reputation. She also treated dystrophic nails in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
In 2013, Marabelle pursued a masters by research on the topic of posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and hypermobility. She remains an active researcher today and lectures at the University of Western Australia.
Marabelle believes that the best healthcare outcomes stem from respectful collaboration between clinicians and patients. She published a book chapter on collaborative communication and conducts workshops to train other clinicians.
As a proponent of natural and holistic health, Marabelle believes in the body’s ability to heal with the support of adjunct therapies such as dry needling and functional rehab. Having suffered a plantar plate tear herself and hoping for non-surgical intervention, she found success in the combination of dry needling, short-term orthotics, and barefoot exercise. She loves to help those looking for a good shot at non-surgical interventions for their foot problems. As a young mum herself, she has a special interest in paediatric podiatry. Marabelle is based at our East Fremantle clinic.
Leanne Dallas - Receptionist
Leanne is our Receptionist here at George Street Podiatry, making her the first face that you will see when you enter our clinic. Leanne was born and raised in Perth, which is shown by her true Aussie character.
In Leanne’s spare time outside of work, she loves walking her chocolate Labrador/Kelpie cross dog Beau (aka Bozo), cooking nutritious meals, and watching her favourite AFL team, the mighty West Coast Eagles dominate the field! Leanne’s downtime is always spent with family and friends, making everlasting memories and going out to lunch with the girls!
Leanne loves that our spacious, mid-century, industrial, aesthetic feeling space is only a few minutes from the river, surrounded by many local businesses.
Leanne’s most rewarding part of her job is interacting with our amazing and loyal clients. Our team is always more than willing to help anyone with any foot issue!
